This is the message I preached on Good Friday, 2011, in response to the query as to why we are celebrating the Lord’s Supper on Easter Day instead of Good Friday. It’s more informational than formational, but you may find it interesting; it’s pretty brief. You can listen to it here.

Hi Jeff, I have always thought that Good Friday was a most appropriate time to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. After all, it is more about new life than death, isn’t it? Chuck
Chuck, as a Baptist, you *should* believe that! 🙂 But as a Presbyterian, I don’t believe that Good Friday is an appropriate time to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, for just the reason you state: it’s more about new life than death. Good Friday is about death, as well it should be. But the Sacrament, as I understand it, is about life, and about Jesus’ coming kingdom. Blessings!
